USC Pi Beta Phi Sorority • California Gamma Chapter

How Can Pi Beta Phi Affect Your Life?
Your
membership in a Greek-letter sorority at USC will have a
profound impact during your college life – and for many
years to come!
As young
women attending the University of Southern California,
our membership in the California Gamma Chapter of Pi
Beta Phi Sorority fills us with pride, knowing that we
are one of the eleven wonderful USC sororities.
Since 1917, USC Pi Phis have devoted
themselves to the core Pi Beta Phi Values
of:
-
Integrity,
-
Honor and Respect,
-
Lifelong Commitment,
-
Personal and Intellectual Growth,
-
Sincere Friendship, and
-
Philanthropic Service to Others.

The Pi Beta Phi Mission
To promote friendship, develop women of
intellect and integrity, cultivate
leadership potential, and enrich lives
through community service. |
The
positive results of our ongoing commitment to these
values creates benefits for our members as well as the
larger USC community. In 2007, the Pi Beta Phi chapter
at USC received national recognition for Intellectual
Development, Organizational Knowledge, and Leadership
Development from the Pi Phi national headquarters. We
were also awarded the Most Improved GPA in our region,
and the University itself has recognized us for our
excellence in Alumnae relations. We are honored to
contribute as a positive factor on the USC campus,
knowing that these values will be with us long after
graduation!
Philanthropy & Social Service
Each
year, USC Pi Phis hold two major philanthropy events
and participate in numerous other community fundraisers.
Cancer Research. “Arrowspike”, our annual fall
volleyball tournament, raised over $18,000 last year
for the
Scott Carter Foundation,
to fund children’s cancer research. The tournament
even included a knockout performance by Rick
Springfield!
Childhood Literacy. Our second major
philanthropy project is called “Pi Social” – a giant
pie eating contest attended by the entire USC
community! Proceeds from the Pi Social are donated
to the Los Angeles
Reading to Kids
chapter, to promote literacy among children.
USC
Pi Beta Phi sorority members also actively volunteer
at the
Ronald McDonald House,
and the
Swim with Mike
organization to benefit the USC Physically Challenged
Athletes Scholarship Fund. We also participate in a
variety of other philanthropies throughout the year,
knowing that by practicing this spirit of social service
often, we make it a lifetime habit!
Enjoying Our House
Cal
Gamma Pi Phis are extremely delighted to live in such a
beautifully renovated home! Our house now features a
brand new gym, two kitchens, three TV & recreation
rooms, a recently installed sprinkler system, and brand
new furnishings! The opportunity to live in the house
and socialize with our sorority sisters has always been
a truly once-in a lifetime experience that our alumnae
recall was the highlight of their time at the University
of Southern California. With the recent remodel, we know
that will be true for a long time to come!
Vibrant Social Events
Aside
from striving for academic excellence and generous
philanthropy, our members also love to have fun! USC Pi
Beta Phi sorority sisters participate in many incredible
social events each year, including our annual
invitationals: the Luau, Inspo, Beaux and Arrows, and My
Tie events; Moms’ and Dads’ Days; social exchanges with
fraternities; and the campus-wide Greek Week. There is
no shortage of excitement when you’re a Pi Phi!
